1. Scope
This Refund Policy applies to all paid Subscriptions to the doot service operated by Hum and Spark, registered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (“doot,” “we,” “us”). It supplements, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
Subscription sales are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), acting as the Merchant of Record for doot. Refunds processed under this Policy are issued by Paddle on our behalf.
2. Subscription plans
doot offers Subscriptions on two terms:
- Monthly: billed each calendar month. Auto-renews until cancelled.
- Annual: billed once for a twelve (12) month term. Auto-renews until cancelled. Includes a fourteen (14) day free trial for new subscribers.
3. Free trial
3.1 The Annual Subscription includes a fourteen (14) day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial period ends.
3.2 You may cancel the trial at any time before it ends by going to Settings → Subscription in the application and selecting Cancel. If you cancel before the trial ends, no charge is made.
3.3 If you do not cancel before the end of the trial, the Subscription becomes payable and the payment instrument you nominated is charged in accordance with the plan you selected.
4. Cancellation
4.1 You may cancel any Subscription at any time, with or without reason, by going to Settings → Subscription and selecting Cancel, or by contacting aditya@humandspark.com.
4.2 Effect of cancellation on monthly Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. You retain access to paid features until that date, and you are not charged for the next month.
4.3 Effect of cancellation on annual Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current annual term. You retain access to paid features until that date, and you are not charged for the next term.
4.4 Cancellation does not by itself delete your account or your Content. To delete your account, see Settings → Delete account; this is a separate, immediate action and is irreversible.
5. Statutory right of withdrawal — consumers in the EEA, UK, and certain other jurisdictions
5.1 If you are a consumer ordinarily resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to withdraw from your purchase within fourteen (14) days of the contract date, without giving any reason.
5.2 Express consent and waiver. Because the Service is a digital service supplied immediately on Subscription, when you complete checkout you are asked to expressly consent to the immediate provision of the Service and to acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once provision begins. If you provide such consent, the right of withdrawal does not apply to the portion of the Service already provided.
5.3 If you do not provide express consent and do not begin using the Service, you may withdraw within fourteen (14) days of the purchase by emailing aditya@humandspark.com with the words “Withdrawal Request” in the subject line, or by sending the European Commission’s model withdrawal form. We will arrange a full refund within fourteen (14) days.
5.4 Other statutory rights you may have as a consumer (including, without limitation, rights to a remedy in respect of digital content that is faulty or not as described) are not affected by this Policy.
6. Refund requests
6.1 To request a refund, email aditya@humandspark.com with your account email and the approximate date and amount of the charge. We will respond within seven (7) business days.
6.2 Refund requests are reviewed and processed by Paddle in accordance with Paddle’s Refund Policy and applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
6.3 You can also contact Paddle directly at help@paddle.com to raise a refund query.
7. How refunds are processed
7.1 Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment instrument used for the purchase. Refund processing typically takes between five (5) and ten (10) business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.
7.2 Refunds are made in the original currency of the purchase. We are not responsible for any difference resulting from exchange-rate fluctuations between the time of purchase and the time of refund.
7.3 Where applicable taxes (including, without limitation, EU VAT, UK VAT, US sales tax, and Indian GST) were collected at checkout, those taxes are refunded together with the principal amount.
8. Chargebacks
8.1 If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at aditya@humandspark.com or Paddle at help@paddle.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We aim to resolve disputes directly and quickly.
8.2 Initiating a chargeback for a charge that is, on the facts, valid (for example, a renewal you forgot to cancel) may result in suspension or termination of your Account, in addition to recovery of any chargeback fees imposed on us by the payment network.
9. Account deletion
Cancelling a Subscription does not delete your account or Content. If you wish to delete your account and personal data, go to Settings → Delete account; this action is immediate and irreversible. Personal data may persist in encrypted backups for up to seven (7) days after deletion in the ordinary course of backup rotation, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may amend this Policy from time to time. The version in force is identified by the effective date at the top. Where amendments are material, we will notify active subscribers by email at least thirty (30) days before the new version takes effect. Plans purchased before a change remain governed by the version of this Policy in force at the time of purchase, save where a change is required by law to apply retroactively.
